Sandwich Review in NYC #39 (Federoff's Roast Pork)
I tried Federoff's Roast Pork way back in 2011 when I first moved here. I got their signature pork sandwich and I remember it being really good. Nowadays I can't get anything from Williamsburg unless I do delivery. I do UberEats One (pro-tip: get it for a month, go to cancel it, then get one of those "please stay with us" offers at discount) and I get value from places that do 2 for 1 specials. So I saw good ol' Federoff's offering this and I decided to buy 2 cheesesteaks for myself and have the surplus value cover the delivery fees and tip.
Classic cheesesteak: USDA prime beef, cheese whiz, fried onions. Also ordered cherry peppers on the side.
Super beefy flavor, seasoned perfectly. You had the sweetness of the carmelized onions with the bitterness and spice of the vinegar'd cherry peppers (it's a must add IMO). I think it's the best cheesesteak I've had in the city. Rating: 4/4
The next day I ate it again, re-heated. It did not get old for me. It is a bit on the messier side but I won't dock for that.
I'm still waiting to try the hyped up Danny and Coop's cheesesteak but I've heard it's often an hour-plus wait so no thanks for now. There are too many good sandwiches in this city to have that level of FOMO.
