Sandwich Review in NYC #32 (Au Cheval)

Met a friend of mine traveling from Atlanta at Au Cheval. I ordered the Shaved Prime Rib Sandwich -- prime rib, gruyere, au jus, creamy horseradish. It's basically a premium French Dip and it definitely reflects in the price at $36.99. He ordered the burger (cheddar, onions, dijonaise, egg and bacon on brioche) and we split our meals with each other.

I gotta say, this definitely lives up to the hype even at $36.99. 4/4 rating. It's premium, tender beef that you get to dip in two complimentary sauces. Friend asked me whether I preferred the burger or the sandwich and I said the sandwich because the burger was almost entirely rich/fatty flavors while the horseradish gave the sandwich a good balance. This is something I could eat every day while the burger is a once-in-a-awhile treat, unless you forgo the egg and bacon.

Anyway. To follow up on my last post, I'm going to short bitcoin heading into the summit. I already got into a starter position on BTC March futures, via Coinbase, at 90k and I'd like to double my position into Friday morning. I think it's a sell-the-news event. If it's not tanking after the summit, it's a cover... hard stop if I'm super wrong is over 100k. Will make for a nice trade breakdown post, win or lose.

Summit will be at 1:30pm EST on Friday until 5:30. Expect some volatility. My ideal target would a re-test of those sub-$80k prior lows.
