Sandwich Review in NYC #18 (Bagel Bazaar)
Merry Christmas to all my readers. Yesterday we spent time with the In-Laws out in Bensonhurst. Olivia opened up some gifts. Our house is just way too cluttered and we don't have festive decorations or a tree. We have to work on some traditions next year when she's 2.
I got "Big Breakfast Sandwich" from a local no-frills joint called Bagel Bazaar on 86th street. It's bacon, ham, sausage, egg, and hashbrown between a roll. It's not a place from a yelp review or sandwich thread, just a random place. It's a good time to try a replacement level sandwich and break down why it's replacement level in order to sharpen my ratings for the future. I hope that didn't sound super pretentious because I do think the NYC breakfast sandwich replacement level is very high--I could eat these every day (with some sauce) and be a happy man.
Hash brown in the sandwich is an interesting choice but it doesn't add a whole lot for me. It's soft carbs on more soft carbs. The outer hash shell wasn't crispy enough to add any texture points. This sandwich really needed a sauce. It's usually standard practice to have some ketchup or hot sauce packets on the side but I forgot to ask. A sandwich that scores 3+ shouldn't require getting anything out of a house cabinet to enhance the flavor. It should have its own sauce or stand alone on its ingredients.
Ranking: 2/4. A solid replacement level breakfast sandwich that NYC-ers eat everyday, just bigger. Totally fine choice.
Morning market notes:
Not much. I'm not trading. The only thing worth noting is I think that bitcoin 91,000 level will be breeched hard at some point. Will it bounce and be a wick or will it hold lower to find a deeper price like 80,000? I don't know. It just looks like a vulnerable support level to me. I have lightened even more risk and I set some stink bids under 90k. If there's a setup in January, I might buy some MSTR 300 puts dated a month out or longer (it's probably valid to buy it now but I don't want to make another stock trade in 2024).
