Sandwich Review in NYC #19 (Osteria)

Some places have big menus but I only order certain dishes and ignore the rest. There's this place at Dekalb Market with great pasta called Osteria. They have pressed paninis too but why eat those when Alidoro is right there and their entire menu is a reliable 4/4?

But today I tried something new and got a sandwich at Osteria. I ordered the Handy Man--prosciutto, mortadella, salame, spicy coppa, mozzarella, sun dried tomato spread.

It sounds delicious... looks delicious... and there isn't really a flaw I could pick out... but ultimately felt like the sandwich was less than the sum of its parts? I think I need to stop ordering Italian cold cut+mozzarella combo's. They don't have the highest ceiling for my tastes--always consistent but only hit a couple notes, the saltiness of the meat/cheese and the acidity of the tomato.

I give it a 3. The ingredients, the bread, and the spread are too good to give it a 2, but I don't think I'd order it again.

Market Bullshit

I didn't really trade today other than micro-scalping bullshit on RGTI for a few hundred bucks, which doesn't count as real trading in my book. First red day on it--big question for shorts is... will it have a mini 10-15% correction or a massive one in the 25-50% range? Well, as of 1:30pm, the answer is just a mini correction. Stock reversed all its losses and now trading green. I kinda felt the same feeling on Friday.. yeah it's going lower but it's so sticky when it makes new lows. They clear the offer so easily for micro 30-50c moves to the upside, even if the 5min trend was initially negative. It doesn't feel like total exhaustion has happened and it's satisfying to see the range resolve in a squeeze to the upside. If RGTI had continued to the 10-13 range despite my "feelings" that it wouldn't have that kind of followthrough, then I'd have to think what I saw was just noise--that maybe the algo's have just gotten that good at rotating prices on the micro timeframe while in the midst of a larger downtrend.

rgti fail

I'm making these notes in case I want to trade seriously again... to not give a fuck about trying to hold for a deeper target if I can't sense the internal weakness that's supposed to be there for it happen... if that makes sense. There's so much subconscious shit I have to unlearn from the Professor's scan days, I could give you 10 of these blog posts just about that itself.
