Sandwich Review in NYC #26 (Capital One Cafe)

Kinda random but I had a lightning bolt of creativity hit me after an appointment in midtown so I stopped at Capital One Cafe on 35th St. to get some writing done. Since I hadn't had lunch, I had to order something and you get a free 12 oz drip coffee with a sandwich (if you're a CapOne cardholder) so I got their turkey sandwich on brioche.

cap 1 turkey

It's not bad... it's like a decent homemade sandwich. It's made on the spot rather than pre-made in a bag like many cafe spots.

Rating: 2/4

I ended up sitting at a crowded table where these two random tech worker guys with laptops, who didn't know each other, ended up in a spontaneous conversation that lasted at least 30 minutes. They first started talking about their jobs, then their heritage and family, then their relationships, and then about their futures. It felt awkward knowing I could hear them and the whole table, anyone not wearing headphones, could hear them but good for them for finding friendship. You never know who you can meet in this city and what it leads to. Maybe they'll be co-founders of a startup.

Bitcoin thoughts:

Looks like the correction is probably over heading into inauguration. You could say the same about the broader market, which didn't show any sustained weakness under the key $580 SPY level. If you didn't stare at your screen and market in BTC at 91-92k, knowing that 89k was all you could get on the breech of key support, you had to buy higher. There are some pro-crypto tailwinds like the new SEC chairman or whatever. Maybe priced in, maybe not, maybe doesn't matter and only bigger picture trend since 2023 matters. I ended up rebuying at yesterday's morning dip at 98k. Not a full position, just what I had prior to 12/20. Not sure what to expect anymore but higher more likely than lower now.

Checking in on MSTR just for the hell of it... I never took a longer term poisition there. I don't know if I would have covered a lot at $300. Now it looks like the period of relative weakness is over and there isn't anymore edge left.

Still not trading stocks... I just don't care right now. I'm retired again.
